What Mom's Really Want for Mother's Day!

Updated: May 6, 2022

Do you ever get stuck on what to give Mom? Or what to ask for? Well, we asked our team and they have some fantastic (and very simple) recommendations.

Sarah Hamilton: My all time favorite mothers day gift is just the fact that my daughters even want to celebrate me! And my favorite things that they have done is surprise me with Kemper flying to Nashville to meet me there while I was there with Callen. It meant so much that went out of their way to have the three of us together. They totally surprised me and they set up a super fun weekend together then made a video that captured some of our fun. I cherish that video and our time together.

For me it’s the gift of time together and nothing more matters.

Crystal Tidmore: Hands down, the gift of time with my kids on some sort of adventure—be it a picnic or day trip. Something that pulls us out of our daily routine so we can have a shared experience together—and with no complaining!

Alli Phillips: The gifts I cherish the most from my kids involve quality time with them - a family bike ride, and/or a Greenbelt hike to our favorite “hidden rope swing," with a dip or swim in Sculpture Falls or Barton Springs, followed by a picnic that they have planned and prepared, is the best gift ever!

Neissa Springmann: I love a low-key Mother's Day that starts with

sleeping in and not waking up with an alarm clock, followed by a cup of coffee, church, and then as much time outdoors and doing simple things with the family, like watching our son play baseball, an ORU baseball game, riding bikes, planting in my yard and then maybe some downtime to read a book and enjoy a cat nap. As for a "thing", I love anything Durant and Malaine make for me and cherish any of their handprint cards or custom artwork. The icing on the cake would be to not having to cook and no kid arguments :-)

Kathleen Parker: I miss my Mom. She was amazing! But for me, time with family is what I enjoy on Mothers Day. Now that all my kids are mothers it is hard to get everyone together on that day. The girls always write me a hand written letter and I have saved them over the years. Brad will take me on a morning ski and then church and lunch.

Amy Younkman: My hands down favorite Mothers Day gift is always a thoughtful, from the heart handmade card with written sentiment.

My son often sketches a pic of something I like on his handmade card and my oldest daughter might paint a design on her card.

Knowing they took the time to do this and think of me means so much more than ordering something off Amazon.
