How We End Determines the Strength of Our Beginning

Point to Ponder:

Do you consider your health as the best possible gift to give?

"In a crowded, busy holiday season, it’s common for people to feel weighed down by family relationships, financial pressure, regret, or failure. Often, people feel overwhelmed by things God never intended for them to carry. His solution is simple: Let go of the baggage and travel light. December is a natural time to reflect on the past year—where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you’d like to be. But more importantly, it’s an opportunity to end the year on a high note and a way to jump start the next year. What I’ve learned is how you end the year determines how strong you'll start the next. So end 2018 strong!

Ironically, these are the words I received from our church pastor. His timing couldn't be more perfect, especially as we begin our Holiday Health & FITmas Challenge.

We promote this challenge every December as a way to keep you motivated and focused on your health and as stated above, ending 2018 on a healthy high note will have a tremendous impact on how you start 2019.

Our physical, mental and spiritual health is the greatest gift we can give ourselves, our family, our friends and our community. Despite having the resources to enjoy experiences and make memories, without our health having memorable experiences are less likely. When we take the time to honor our temple, such as eating well, exercising and avoiding negative people, information and things, not only is stress, anxiety and tension reduced, but our confidence increases and we feel a delicious sense of accomplishment. All of this helps combat the feelings of regret and failure. Furthermore, we get happy, which makes us more generous, hopeful, grateful and joyful.

Throughout the next few weeks I'll touch more on some things we can do to let go and travel light, but for the sake of today and this week, I encourage you to set aside time to look at your calendar and schedule your iGnite classes and self-care practices. In addition, on the days you can't attend an iGnite class, on Instagram we have at-home workouts and workout boards. Finally, lighten-up your pantry and toss the Achilles Heel types of food and drinks that don't serve you and leave you feeling regretful and worse after consuming. You deserve the best!

It's going to be an awesome month and we're pumped to end 2018 on a healthy high note, together.
