This July, we embarked on our 14th Annual Adventure Escape to the Pacific Northwest, exploring the stunning city of Seattle, Washington. Our base was the charming neighborhood of Queen Anne in Seattle, but each day we ventured into the vast, majestic landscapes of Mother Nature, embracing a sense of wonder and play. Our adventure began with white-water rafting in refreshingly cool waters—an exhilarating experience for everyone involved. Next, we tackled our fears with canyoneering, which included rappelling down canyons, floating through rapids, ziplining from one side of the canyon to the other, and jumping into crystal-clear, COLD swimming holes. We hiked through the whimsical Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest on the Pacific Crest Trail, biked to a picturesque mountain lake, kayaked in the seal-filled Puget Sound, and went whale watching for orcas.

This summer, iGnite headed to the beautiful state of Oregon for some a glorious adventure with friends in nature! Our home base was Beaverton, just outside of Portland, and made for the perfect beginning and end to each day. How’d we spend those days?
Once we arrived, we dropped our bags and hit the ground running, er, biking with an amazing tour (and a bit of history) of Portland. Day two we threw on our padded bike shorts for a trip to the Columbia River Valley, electric bikes and three breathtaking waterfall hikes along the route including Multnomah Falls, the second largest year-round falls in the United States at 620 feet! Were we done? We were not, we had a lovely late afternoon stop at a local lavender farm where we may have made many purchases.  Day three found us on the North Santiam River for some rafting fun, a picnic halfway and perhaps some bull riding by brave souls at the front of the rafts. Then it was off to Silver Falls for something totally unique, scary awesome and exhausting fun – 225-foot redwood tree climbing at sunset.  We rounded out the last day with a lighthouse visits, Cannon Beach adventures, in-town shopping, and a lovely and memorable final dinner.

There has never been a better time! We say this each year when we look back on our Summer Adventure Escape and it’s always 100% true! This year we ventured to the verdant beauty of West Virginia and were amazed by the natural beauty, friendly folks and outdoor fun we were able to jump into together! Clinging to sheer rock faces on an absolutely thrilling Via Ferrata, strategizing over paintball in the woods, taking in the glory of New River Gorge - the country’s newest National Park, off-roading up the mountains and through the mud on ATVs, and meandering along the Greenbrier River Trail through an old train tunnel to a gloriously cool swimming hole, laughing and talking all the way. Then, coming home exhausted but full of energy to our mountaintop hot tub and dinner waiting thanks to our new best friend, Chef Sean! If you’ve ever considered a trip with us, mark your calendars for the third week of July, who know what adventures we can have together!

Our Sun Valley Adventure Escape couldn't have come at a better time, as we were all needing time away--time away to immerse ourselves nature, outdoor activity, laughter and girlfriends. As experienced in all of our Adventure Escapes, our 2020 Escape provided us with the much needed mental, emotional and spiritual lift that we took back to our families, community, work and beyond.  Biking, hiking, rafting, boating, cliff jumping (for those who wanted to)--it was a heart and mind picker-uper!

What an epic adventure we had with Ignite in Jackson Hole, WY!  I understood conceptually what I was signing up for, only knowing one other person there when I arrived. I knew I had signed up for hiking, biking, white-water rafting, dancing, horse-back riding and floating down the Snake River.   What a beautiful surprise to discover we would develop such a deep level of relationship among all of us in such a short amount of time while doing all these fun and rigorous things!  Neissa held a precious space for all of us to be ourselves and express ourselves fully, which made it a trip I will cherish forever!  Sign me up for next year!” - Marlene Clark

Banff, Canada  |  July 2016

Banff, Canada + Outdoor Activity + Women = Empowerment, Adventure and Friendship, which is exactly how our Banff Escape can be described. Our first day of adventure began with a somewhat terrifying yet empowering bang, as we climbed ladders, crossed suspension bridges and hiked up, down, around and across Mt. Norquay. The prize was the breathtaking panoramic view of Banff, the encouragement and fellowship during the climb and the glory of exerting and stretching our bodies, minds and spirits. It was indeed an accomplishment that we will never, ever forget. On the following days, we hiked alongside Lake Louise and up to the Plain of 6 Glaciers, where we witnessed an avalanche—something even our guides had never seen! We spent down time on Lake Moraine, which, like Lake Louise is a mesmerizing deep blue. We enjoyed a full day of cycling in and around Banff and alongside Lake Minnewanka. Our trip ended with a day of white water rafting and cliff jumping in the Bow River, and every day ended in the hot tub. It was truly a spectacular experience that made each of us grateful for many things: our health and physical, mental and spiritual fitness, which allowed us to courageously participate in each activity; female friendships and relationships (new and old) which pick us up and encourage us when are tank is empty; and a sense of humor which makes all of life doable and turns the even the worst situations into something beautiful.

Coeur d’Alene, Idaho  |  July 2015

“Being new to Austin, I was looking forward to the iGnite Escape. iGnite has been such a welcoming, supportive and positive workout experience for me that I knew the trip would have a similar vibe. Yet, as I set out on the journey, there was a bit of that 7th grade girl inside me thinking about the first day of junior high: Would I fit into the existing, established relationships and groups? Had the other women made plans to attend with dear friends? Of course, I need not have had a concern. In an instant, I was not an interloper but an integral part of the experience we were building together...It was nice to have a summer break from the safe and comfortable routine of our lives. We didn’t have to orchestrate any of this; we just could experience. As women, that almost never happens, right? We had fun in the outdoors, laughed a lot, and enjoyed lots of fellowship with other amazing women.” Susan P

Can we go back yet please?!

Smoky Mountain Adventure: Asheville, North Carolina  |  July 2013

We spent six days and five nights in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina.
